Day two in wonderful Nashville, IN

A cold yet sunny day to start our adventures. After a fantastic breakfast, we trundled down past the shops that had yet to open to Common Grounds, a coffee and tea emporium. A favorite with the locals and kind of hidden away off the main street it was just the place for Connie and I to grab a hot drink, settle down in comfortable chairs and just spen time together.  What a great place!  Got our drinks and was told we could settle the bill later.

We then headed to Big Woods Pizza for lunch.  Salad and pizza for us!  Also a couple of pints of Hoosier Red to wash it all down.

Walking back to the Inn we stopped by several shop and helped the local economy.  I was surprised when one store owner took $5 off because she saw my retired military ID card in my wallet.  All in all a lovely way to spend day two of our Valentine's weekend.

We decided to have dinner at the Artist Colony Inn, just across the street.  Nothing fancy, just soup and cheese sandwich. Connie had chili and I had onion soup, then back to our Inn for some great home baked blackberry cobbler.

Up to the room with full tummies, relaxing for the rest of the evening with Connie looking at the fireplace.

Later days,

Valentine's Weekend

A slow start to a Saturday morning, a good thing!  Connie and I packed up the car, sadly not the pony, and hit the road for Nashville, IN.  Good thing we did not have the Mustang, we hit some snow on the way.

Cornerstone Inn
We stopped by the 450 North Brewery and Simmons Winery, near Columbus IN on the way, for lunch.  Connie had a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and I had a Chicken Cordon Blue sandwich.  Great food along with a pint of Dog Day.  Went to the winery to pick up just a couple of bottles for friends and family, ended up with a case!  They only had one bottle of blackberry left and it was covered in chocolate for Valentine's Day.  Since we had just wanted a bottle, they gave it to us at the regular price since we were buying a case.  A great start to the weekend!

We made it to Nashville and checked into the Cornerstone Inn.  We settled in, then checked out the wonderful "snacks" downstairs.  Scones, angel food cake with icing and fruit compote and then off for a nap to be ready for the evenings event.  Connie and I had a couples massage at Ethereal Day Spa. Fantastic! Enjoy a hot tub first, some wine, then a hot stone massage, what a great way to relax.

We stopped by for more snacks before heading to the room to relax and catch some sleep.

What will our relaxing day Sunday be like?

Enjoying life with Connie!
